ARM LIFT

BRACHIOPLASTY

ARM LIFT ( BRACHIOPLASTY )

Excess skin can form under the upper arms with age or after significant weight loss. Fortunately, this excess tissue can be removed with brachioplasty. At your first appointment, we’ll discuss how this procedure can help you get younger, firmer-looking arms.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does this procedure involve?
An incision will be made inside the arm to remove skin from the elbow to the armpit.
How long does the procedure take?
The surgery is performed under local or general anesthesia and takes one and a half to two and a half hours, depending on the method chosen.
What will happen in the days after the operation?
Your incisions will be covered with a dressing.
Is a recovery period required?
You should not lift any weight for two weeks and avoid straining during this period. You can return to work two weeks after the procedure – or sooner depending on the nature of the work you perform – but you may have to wait up to four weeks if your job requires you to do physical work with your arms. Physical activity can be resumed gradually about three weeks later.
