Nipple treatment

Many women have invaginated or inverted nipples. Be aware that this condition, much more common than you think, can be easily corrected with a simple and safe procedure performed under local anesthesia. Imperfections from inverted, overly protruding or overly pronounced nipples can be successfully corrected by cosmetic surgery.

Possibilities of a nipple correction:

  • Reduction of excessively large nipples in women and men
  • Correction of malformed or inverted nipples
  • Reconstruction of the areola and nipple

Each case has its specificities, and the method must be targeted in a personalized way. We are here to answer all your questions about this procedure that will allow you to have breasts that will make you feel beautiful and confident.

THE INTERVENTION

A tiny incision will be made just below the nipple. Thanks to the use of melting points, the incision will be almost invisible.

If the retracted nipple is of normal shape, Dr. Coeugniet introduced, under local anesthesia, a ring under the nipple to force it out. If the retracted nipple is due to malformation, he makes an incision at the level of the nipple and cuts the lactiferous ducts, since they are the ones which prevent the normal projection of the nipple.

During nipple reduction, which leaves no visible scars, Dr. Coeugniet sometimes has to cut part of the milk ducts. This is why you should tell the surgeon if you still want to breastfeed after nipple surgery. He will then propose a less radical reduction, which preserves the milk ducts.

For areola reduction, Dr. Coeugniet removes part of the pigmented skin through a small incision made on the outside of the areola. This procedure will leave a thin scar around the areola. It does not affect the possibility of breastfeeding since it preserves the milk ducts.
