Breast augmentation

Note that in some cases, breast augmentation can be achieved naturally by filling the breasts with autologous fat. Breast augmentation can be combined with areola or nipple correction.

THE SURGERY

A pretty breast requires a shape and a size tailored to your morphology. The correction of these two parameters may require the placement of a breast prosthesis (round or anatomical) or of fat (lipomodelling) with a possible gesture of correction of the associated skin case.

Breast augmentation surgery involves inserting a prosthesis for which the size, filling, shape and positioning (under the glandular tissue or behind the pectoral muscle) are chosen by the patient, in consultation with the surgeon. Breast implants can be introduced in 3 different ways: through the areola, through the breast fold or through an incision in the armpit.

Breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia and takes about 1 hour. The patient can go home the day of the operation. After the procedure, a waterproof bandage is applied, and a specific bra must be worn. The first 4 days can be relatively painful, especially in the case of submuscular positioning.

The result is visible immediately after the operation, but you have to wait 6 months to assess the final result.

What are the different types of implants?

You can opt for a prosthesis made of physiological serum (saline water) or a prosthesis in silicone gel. Each of them has distinct characteristics that we can discuss at your appointment in order to choose the one that you suit best.

How to time the operation lasts?

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and lasts between an hour and an hour and a half. The patient can usually return home the same day.

Will I see results immediately after the surgery?

You will have to wait some time, because after the surgery, your breasts will be covered by a bandage for a week.

How will the days after the operation be?

During two weeks, it will be preferable to wear bras without frames or of camisoles with in-built bras, day and night. It will also be important to sleep on the back during this period in order to maintain the prosthesis in space.

Will I go through a period of convalescence?

You will be prescribed drugs in order to control the pain. If your job does require no physical effort, you will be back a few days after the intervention. You will be able to resume exercise and more intense sports a few weeks after the surgery.
