Rhinoplasty

Your face, often a reflection of your personality, must be considered as a whole in order to respect balance and naturalness.

Rhinoplasty (or nose surgery) aims to improve the appearance of the nose or correct nasal deformities. Thanks to this procedure, you will be able to breathe fully and have a nose perfectly harmonized with the rest of your face!

Different techniques can be used for plastic surgery of the nose: open rhinoplasty and closed rhinoplasty.

With you, during the first consultation, we will establish an adapted treatment plan. Dr. Coeugniet will work to respect your personality and make discreet and harmonious changes. It is indeed important, through this personalized treatment plan, that you and everyone around you qualify the result as natural.

THE INTERVENTION

Performed under general anesthesia, the surgery lasts between 1 and 4 hours, depending on the complexity of the case. In cases of nasal tip surgery only, it can be performed under local anesthesia.

Open rhinoplasty offers more options for intervention than closed rhinoplasty. This cosmetic operation of the nose offers a better perception of the cartilage structures and is therefore generally recommended when the desired correction includes an intervention on the tip of the nose.

Closed rhinoplasty is a cosmetic operation of the nose that can meet several objectives: reduce the size of the nose, straighten a crooked nose, remove a bump, correct the crease between the nose and the upper lip… These nose surgeries can be combined during the same operation.

However, closed rhinoplasty is not recommended when the demand is on the tip of the nose.

How long does the intervention last?

Performed under general anesthesia, the surgery lasts between 1 and 4 hours, depending on the complexity of the case. In cases of nasal tip surgery only, it can be performed under local anesthesia.

Will I have a scar?

The incisions are made on the inside of the nose or, in some cases, on the outside. However, they are usually not visible.

How will the days after the operation unfold?

You will need to wear a splint on your nose for 7 to 10 days after surgery. In some cases, splints will be installed in the nose. In order to decrease swelling, you will need to keep your head elevated for the first few nights.

Should I plan for a recovery period?

You can return to work one week after the procedure and resume physical activity gradually and smoothly three weeks after the surgery.
