TUMMY TUCK

ABDOMINOPLASTY

TUMMY TUCK ( ABDOMINOPLASTY )

After significant weight loss or pregnancy, or with age, , it is common to have a bit or a lot of excess skin in the abdominal area. Abdominoplasty can remove excess skin and fat tissue. After this procedure, you’ll once again have a flat stomach and a beautiful figure.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does this procedure involve?

An incision will be made in the lower part of your abdomen. Then, the excess tissue and skin will be removed, and finally, the navel repositioned.

How long does the procedure take?

Two types of surgeries are available. The complete surgery is performed under general anesthesia and takes about three to four hours. Partial surgery, also called a “mini-lift”, is performed under local anesthesia and takes about an hour.

What will happen in the days after the procedure?

Your incisions will be covered with a dressing. Temporary drains will be placed under your skin to help with fluid and blood evacuation. At the follow-up visit a few days after the procedure, the drains will be removed.

Is a recovery period required?

You can return to work one to two weeks after the procedure, but you may have to wait up to six weeks if your job is of a physical nature. Physical activity can be resumed gradually about three weeks later.
