MALFORMATION MAMMAIRE ( ASYMÉTRIE MAMMAIRE )

Breast defects, usually caused by a birth defect, can manifest in many ways. They often appear at puberty, when breast tissue and glands develop. Fortunately, these malformations can be corrected using various surgical procedures. At your first appointment, we’ll discuss the options available to ensure to get the breasts of your dreams.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does this procedure involve?
Various techniques, such as breast reduction or augmentation and lift, will be combined. All these surgeries are generally performed in the hospital, under general anesthesia, and take one and a half to two and a half hours.
Will the scars be apparent?
The healing process takes time, so you’ll see the final result after one year. For two months after the procedure, your scars will be red. Then, as the months go by, they will whiten and become less and less visible over the next 12 months. You can promote healing by applying vitamin E every day starting the fourth week after the procedure.
What will happen in the days following the operation?
After the operation, bandages will cover your breasts. These will be removed at the postoperative visit scheduled 5 or 10 days after surgery. Your breasts will be swollen and may have bruises in the first two weeks. For six weeks, it is best to wear a no-underwire bra or a camisole with an integrated bra. Also, you’ll need to sleep in a semi-seated position for about two to four weeks.
Is a recovery period required?
You can return to work about one or two weeks after the procedure, but you may have to wait up to four weeks if your job requires you to perform physical work. Physical activity can be resumed gradually about three weeks later.
