It is essential that you are well informed. Dr. Coeugniet will examine your suitability for the operation and show you the possibilities for a good end result.

PREPARATION – ONE MONTH BEFORE THE OPERATION

In general, it is rare to be able to return to work immediately after surgery. Therefore, remember to take leave for the first days or weeks that follow (the length of the leave depends on the operation). If necessary, ask for outside help for household chores.

Arrange for the postoperative check-up. After the operation, it is sometimes necessary to return to the clinic for further check-up and / or to remove stitches.

You have informed Dr. Coeugniet about the medicines you usually take. Your doctor may advise you to temporarily stop taking blood thinners.

Try to stop or at least sharply reduce smoking 2 weeks before the operation. Smoking has negative consequences on convalescence and wound healing.

THE DAY OF THE OPERATION

You have prepared well for the operation, which you approach with complete confidence. Our team is ready to welcome you and treat you in the best conditions.

Shortly before the operation, Dr. Coeugniet will come to visit you briefly in the operating room. If you have any questions, feel free to ask him.

The anesthetist will ask you about your condition and the medications you are taking. He will discuss with you which method of anesthesia and which medications will be used during the operation. It will make sure that you are in great shape when you leave your artificial sleep.

POSTOPERATIVE CARE

After a day operation in cosmetic surgery, you come home. Any serious complications related to the anesthesia or surgery usually occur within the first 24 hours and can be treated quickly. You will then have to stay at the clinic for one or more days, in order to receive adequate care and correct follow-up.

Do not hesitate to contact us in the event of a problem, doubt or abnormal recovery, for example:

• Fever.
• Local redness.
• Generalized malaise.
• At the slightest worry.

THE RECOVERY PERIOD

For most treatments, you should be aware that your normal activities will be limited for a period of time. Take the time to rest and plan your social activities accordingly.

Every treatment is tailored to the patient. Before having surgery, it is very important to be well informed, including about postoperative care and the recovery period. Dr. Coeugniet is there to inform you. Follow his recommendations carefully.

• After the procedure, you must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the first 24 hours.
• Avoid drinking alcohol for the week following the procedure. Once you get home, you can eat and drink as usual, unless otherwise specified.
• Avoid excessively hot clothes, hot baths, saunas, heavy exertion, pressure, heavy loads, coughing, sneezing and emotional excitement
