THE INTERVENTION

Performed under local anesthesia, this cosmetic surgery for protruding ears lasts between an hour and an hour and a half.

It involves making an incision behind the pinna and correcting the shape of the cartilaginous skeleton. Dr. Coeugniet reshapes the cartilage using gentle and natural methods and removes a fragment if necessary, in order to create the anatomical folds. Also, the corner of the ear is brought closer to the head. Dr Coeugniet closes the incision with stitches and applies a bandage to keep the ear in its new position.

Since the incision is made behind the pinna, the scar is invisible.

The final results of an operation to correct protruding ears can be seen immediately after the operation.

How long does the intervention last?

Performed under local anesthesia, the procedure lasts between an hour and an hour and a half.

How will the days after the operation unfold?

The ears will be covered with a bandage for a week. Afterwards, it will be advisable to wear a tennis headband day and night for two weeks. The ears may be swollen for about three weeks after the operation.

Should I plan for a recovery period?

You can return to work 48 hours after surgery, and physical activities can be resumed gradually about three weeks after the procedure.
