Arms lift

Due to aging or significant weight loss, excess skin can form under the upper arms. Fortunately, this excess tissue can be removed with brachioplasty. An arm lift involves treating sagging skin by removing excess skin from this area.

It is very often aesthetic motivation that prompts patients to consult to correct arm defects. Arm surgery is for patients who have an unsightly appearance of their arms: arms that are too big, wrinkled and who do not like to show their arms. During your first consultation, we can discuss with you this procedure which will allow you to achieve younger looking and firmer arms.

THE INTERVENTION

An arm lift involves removing excess skin from inside the arm so that the scar is as inconspicuous as possible. This cosmetic surgery of the arms is associated with a liposculpture which aims to extract accumulations of fat.

By removing the excess skin on the inside of the arm, Dr. Coeugniet obtains a discreet scar, from the armpit to the elbow.

The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia and lasts an average of one and a half hours.

The procedure begins with liposuction of the arms. The surgeon then proceeds to brachioplasty, during which two solutions are available to him:

  • Make a vertical (or longitudinal) incision on the inside of the arms, the length of which varies according to the amount of skin to be treated. This is the preferred technique when there is a lot of sagging skin.
  • Make a horizontal incision in the armpit. This incision will be made in patients with mildly sagging skin.

After having sutured the skin, the practitioner makes a compression bandage on each of the arms.

Usually, the operation takes place on an outpatient basis.
